Sugaring is a natural alternative — a paste made from sugar, lemon, and water that's applied and removed by hand. It's gentler on the skin and ideal for sensitive areas, though slower and somewhat pricier per area.

In practice: for larger areas (legs, arms), hot wax is the best choice. For sensitive areas (face, bikini area), sugaring is the gentler option.

How Long Does Waxing Last

Professional wax hair removal lasts 3 to 5 weeks before hair grows back to a visible length. Compare that to shaving:

• shaving — hair regrows after 1-3 days (with a blunt, thicker tip)
• wax hair removal — hair is pulled out from the root, and new growth is finer and slower

What NOT to Do Before and After Waxing

Before the treatment (24h):

• don't shave the area — hair should be at least 5 mm long
• avoid tanning beds and sun exposure
• don't apply creams or oils to the area

After the treatment (24h):

• avoid saunas, hot showers, and swimming (chlorine)
• don't wear tight clothing over the waxed area
• avoid tanning beds and direct sun exposure
• don't use perfumed or alcohol-based products on the skin

After (48h+): a gentle exfoliating glove once a week plus a fragrance-free moisturizer helps prevent ingrown hairs.

Does Waxing Hurt

Who Should Avoid Wax Hair Removal
